OutGuard GSM Alarm SystemHow it worksCore CapabilitiesThe heart of the OutGuard system is what might be called a ‘black-box’ unit which is easily installed in home office, garden building or garage. The unit communicates with the mobile phone handsets that you nominate (up to 3). Once installed it is armed and disarmed by text command from the nominated GSM mobile phones. Calls or texts from other numbers are rejected. There are three elements to the OutGuard system, the controller, the GSM link and the external sensors such as PIRs, pressure mats, magnetic sensors and the like. When an alarm condition is sensed by these sensors you'll be alerted by SMS messages to the nominated handsets. That alarm condition may be a break-in of your garden office, a trip from a vibration sensor indicating a potential intruder or a warning to say that the external battery is running low or mains power is down. The OutGuard can be connected to real world signals to provide a complete picture of your protected building. Freedom From Mains Grid PowerOutGuard is a low power system and when used with an external lead acid battery and solar PV panel it can be completely free of grid power. This make the OutGuard alarm ideal for those more remote buildings that are away from the house but still need complete protection OutGuard's multiple analogue and digital inputs mean that you can use multiple PIR detectors and even assign them as being in different zones. (Very useful for garages needing coverage both front and rear.) Smoke detectors can also be connected easily to provide a very complete alarm and monitoring system that is totally in your control. No subscriptions to external alarm call centres! You can define which of the nominated mobile phones should receive an alarm message if an event or situation triggers the external sensors. You can program the OutGuard to sound an external alarm or beacon or turn on a external appliance using one of two user controlled relays. Control From AfarThe OutGuard system has both user inputs and outputs available. These outputs include two relays that are ideal for controlling heating or cooling appliances (via external contactors) and lighting. All of the sensor inputs can be monitored by text message, the OutGuard outputs can be set by a simple text message. The highly flexible nature of the system means that it can also make use of energy saving Nap & Sleep modes of operation. OutGuard is a highly flexible GSM based alarm system that also has very powerful control capabilities. |
